Additional Information

Ajamu has generously produced Untitled (Edition, from the Circus Master Series), 1997/2021, especially for Tate on the occasion of his work being acquired for Tate’s collection of British art.

Ajamu has revisited his iconic series Circus Master, 1997, to produce a limited edition print in a bespoke presentation box. On why he selected this historic work, Ajamu says:

'It captured something I was thinking about deeply around S&M and kink, and the model at the time was a boyfriend of mine. I like that the images are very gentle, and historically I don’t see many images of Black men like that. For those of us who are out about being into kink, what is missing is a conversation around intimacy and gentleness within something that might appear quite violent and aggressive.'

Each print comes in a presentation box and is accompanied by a certificate which is signed and numbered by the artist. Prices of the artwork are liable to change. As a limited edition sells out, prices of the artwork are subject to increase and the price will be clearly indicated.
