Part of our collection created with BEEN London, the purse’s deep blue outer is made from AppleSkin™, a vegan alternative to leather that’s made from waste apple peel and cores, by-products of the Italian apple juice industry. These are dried and ground into a powder, which is mixed with binder and pigment to form a supple and durable leather-like material. The material for the contrasting pink coin pocket inside comes from our old exhibition banners, a flexible, hard-wearing and bright mesh that finds new life looking after your pennies.
Our Tate logo is debossed into the front of the wallet, and finished with a recycled zip. The whole zip is made from Oeko-Tex certified recycled materials - the tape is made from 100% recycled polyester (80% recycled post-consumer polyester, 20% recycled pre-consumer polyester), while the zip teeth are made from brass.
Although our banners are usually recycled into Stormboard, a plywood-like plastic board, BEEN have reimagined some of our recent banners as materials for this stylish accessories collection. As the material for each wallet is cut from different parts of the banner, each piece will be unique.
To make the recycled accessories collection, we partnered with BEEN London, a multi-award winning design studio and accessories brand who make their timeless bags and accessories from discarded materials. By using zero virgin materials, the team behind BEEN London highlight the possibilities of circular design and challenge the way things are made – in this collection alone, a total of 50.67 kg of waste has been rescued from going into landfills. An all-female team based in East London, British Vogue has described them as one of the most innovative companies in the world.

Delivery times
We aim to deliver stocked shop products within:
- UK – 2-3 working days
- International – 2-4 weeks
For made-to-order items, including framed custom prints, furniture, lighting and rugs, we aim to deliver within:
- UK – 1-2 weeks
- International – 2-4 weeks
Please note that some items are dispatched separately if they are made to order (such as coffee, custom prints and custom print clothing, neon lights or furniture). This means that if you order these items alongside other shop products, they won’t all arrive together, and you’ll get several deliveries.
If the delivery time frame for each item has ended and you’re still waiting for something from your order, please get in touch and we’ll investigate for you.
Delivery costs
We currently offer free standard delivery on UK orders over £60. Our other delivery costs are as follows.
For orders under £60:
UK – £5 per order
European Union – £15 per order
Rest of world (including non-EU European countries) – £28 per order

Refunds & returns
If you are not completely happy with your order, you can return any items to us, free of charge within 60 days of purchase, and we will be happy to offer you a full refund, replacement or exchange on any items excluding custom prints, furniture and pierced earrings.
