Black goes with everything. With its subtle satin finish, this black ash stool by Goldfinger is exclusively available from Tate.

The rounded edges and neat proportions of the seat will elegantly complement most rooms and interior design schemes, from kitchen to office to living room. Made from salvaged ash wood, it’s an elegant, functional piece of furniture, blending modern Japandi aesthetics and traditional craftsmanship.

With its blend of sleek curves and quality materials, the stool is a perfect addition to a matching black satin ash table and bench for extra seating options, or for use as a single seat or petite side table. It’s handcrafted by skilled carpenters using traditional joinery techniques, carved from wood salvaged from trees from London or the surrounding areas. These trees have been naturally felled or cut down because of disease, overgrowth or housing development, and given a new lease of life in Goldfinger’s North Kensington workshop.

On each chair is a stamp that shows the GPS co-ordinates of the tree the stool was made from, allowing you to look up – or even visit - the place your chair began.

Small but perfectly formed, the stool measures 40 x 35 x 45 cm.

Goldfinger is an award-winning social enterprise, with a focus on community, sustainability, and traditional craftsmanship. They use their profits to fund their teaching academy, where they teach traditional joinery skills and sustainable design, preserving these valuable skills for the future. They also provide much needed jobs in the area, training a strong community of makers. The Corner cafe collection was collaboratively designed by Goldfinger, Tate, and Holland Harvey.
