Papillon
Additional Information
McGurn predominantly works with painting to create fluid figurative works which explore different facets of the human experience, from ecstasy and intimacy to boredom and loss. Working intuitively rather than through direct appropriation, McGurn uses swift brushstrokes to conjure her figures. She draws upon a bank of gestures, shapes and forms which she has embedded in her mind by sketching from her collection of magazines, posters and other printed materials. For the limited edition, Papillon, 2023, McGurn worked closely with M.A.R.S print studio in Glasgow and applied her techniques and processes for painting to the medium of screen printing.
Each print is signed and numbered by the artist. Prices of the artwork are liable to change. As a limited edition sells out, prices of the artwork are subject to increase and the price will be clearly indicated.
