A 250g bag of our Gallery Filter coffee, in your choice of grind or whole beans, direct from our Coffee by Tate Roastery at Tate Britain.

Coffee by Tate is a vibrant community-led non-profit business that helps fund Tate Gallery and champion coffee producers and professionals of all genders throughout the coffee value chain. Our range of coffees is comprised of individual, community and family producers and designed to reflect the seasonality, diversity and quality of coffee grown across Africa and Latin America. Our range of Espresso and Filter coffees are the results of projects, relationships or initiatives that we have instigated or supported in producing communities, with the help of our partners, and changes seasonally. This is a more sustainable process that ensures the highest quality yield and allows us to work with more producers.

Our current Gallery Filter coffee is Gito, a natural process coffee from Rwanda. We’re delighted to source Gito for a second year - its social impact is a joy to continue supporting, and this was a personal favourite for many of us who loved brewing it last year.

Tate Collective's Open Call invited 16-25 year olds to create artworks for our coffee labels. Each entry was inspired by Coffee by Tate's values of quality, community and gender equality. This label titled Synergy was designed by Jade Kelly.

About our producers

The Gito blend comes from three of Muraho Trading Co’s beautiful stations: Rugali, Kilimbi, and Gisheke.

Traditionally, coffees of this size are isolated, sorted and sold to the commodity market. The standard screen size for specialty in Rwanda is 15+, whereas the Gito blend (Gito meaning ‘tiny’ in Kinyarwanda) sizes are 13-14. Having isolated the cherries, sorted by density of the highest grade, the Raw Material team have found a hidden gem of equal specialty grade quality that we believe to a true delight. This ensures a fairer and more premium price for cherries which gives more support to producers.

Delivery times

We aim to deliver stocked shop products within:

  • UK – 2-3 working days
  • International (excluding EU) – 2-4 weeks

For framed custom prints and rugs, we aim to deliver within:

  • UK – 1-2 weeks
  • International (excluding EU) – 2-4 weeks

Many of our neon lights are made in small batches, delivery is estimated at 4-6 weeks worldwide. Our Goldfinger x Tate furniture collection is made to order, with a production lead time of 12-14 weeks.

Please note that some items are dispatched separately if they are made to order (such as coffee, custom prints and custom print clothing, neon lights or furniture). This means that if you order these items alongside other shop products, they won’t all arrive together, and you’ll get several deliveries.

If the delivery time frame for each item has ended and you’re still waiting for something from your order, please get in touch and we’ll investigate for you.

 

Delivery costs

We currently offer free standard delivery on UK orders over £60. Our other delivery costs are as follows.

For orders under £60:

UK – £5 per order

Rest of world ((excluding EU) – £28 per order

From 13 December 2024, we will be temporarily pausing shipping to the European Union and Northern Ireland, to update our details to comply with new EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR). We will restart shipping to the EU and NI as soon as possible, thank you for your patience.

Refunds & returns

If you are not completely happy with your order, you can return any items to us, free of charge within 60 days of purchase, and we will be happy to offer you a full refund, replacement or exchange on any items excluding custom prints, furniture and pierced earrings.
