Additional Information

Directly inspired by the work of Joan Miró, these gold star studs are a must for Miró and jewellery enthusiasts alike. Made by Barcelona based jewellery studio Joidart, their distinctive star shape is taken from a motif in Miró’s Parler Seul, 1948.

Made from 24 caratgold plating, the studs are 1.60 x 1.60 cm each, and come beautifully packaged with a card detailing the artwork inspiration for the earrings.

Joidart are a family-owned business creating contemporary jewellery in collaboration with artists and jewellers. Their studios are close to the Mediterranean coast, making jewellery that’s imbued with the essence of its creators and Mediterranean creativity. This jewellery is made conscientiously and locally, through processes that are as environmentally friendly as possible. Using artisanal jewellery-making techniques in their workshop, tucked away amidst nature, they produce all their pieces by-hand in short runs, to avoid overproduction and waste. They follow the Slow Crafts methodology, where each manual process – soldering, polishing, scratching, enamelling – is carried out without haste, allowing the jewellery the necessary time to achieve the desired finish.

Please note that as these earrings are for pierced ears, for health and safety reasons we are unable to offer a refund on them unless they are faulty.

About the artist
One of the most iconic artists of the twentieth century, Joan Miró’s engaging and richly coloured works are underpinned by a profound concern for humanity and the importance of liberty. Born in Barcelona in 1893, he moved to Paris in 1920 where he became an influential figure in the surrealist movement. However, his identity as a Catalan remained central to his work throughout his life. He responded to the turbulent times he lived through – escaping wartime France and living under the Franco regime in Spain – by developing a deeply personal language of signs and symbols that he used throughout his long career.
