Tate’s vintage poster collection is a selection of classic exhibition posters reproduced from our archive. Printed on FineArt inkjet hemp paper, the posters are A2 size (59.4 x 42 cm), and include a white border.

About hemp paper

The FineArt inkjet paper stock used for the posters is 290 gsm, and made of 60% hemp fibre, 40% cotton. Hemp fibre is useful in paper making for a number of reasons – firstly, its naturally bright white colour means that it gives a clean white base for the paper, with no need for optical brighteners. Secondly, as a fast-growing, versatile fibre, hemp is more sustainable than wood pulp. Naturally pest-resistant, it can be grown anywhere, without the use of pesticides, herbicides or fungicides, and improves the soil quality of its growing site. Every part of the plant is used, and it has a high level of carbon sequestration – capturing harmful carbon emissions and using significantly less water than other methods. It’s finished with a matt premium inkjet coating, and is acid- and lignin-free for excellent age resistance.
