Recycled leather crossbody phone holder

Deadstock material, designer look: this sleek crossbody phone holder from BEEN London + Tate is made from entirely upcycled leather.

With strap that’s adjustable to seven lengths, even the metal hardware on the chic black phone holder is made from recycled materials. The front of the bag is made from smooth recycled leather, debossed with Tate’s logo; the back is cut from soft, pebble-texture deadstock leather. Sized to fit a smartphone comfortably, the bag has a cardholder pocket stitched into the back with contrasting pink thread, allowing you to carry all your essentials with no wasted space.

To create this upcycled, design-led accessories collection, we’ve partnered with sustainability experts BEEN London. Although it’s extremely durable and long lasting, virgin leather has negative environmental impacts, being linked to deforestation, excessive water usage, waterway pollution and huge CO2 emissions. The leather for this collection is made from tannery offcuts and trimmings which are diverted from landfill and re-formed using no adhesives, only high pressure water jets. This recycled leather, along with sourced deadstock leathers, diverts waste from landfill and helps us to create accessories that’ll last a lifetime.

The recycled leather used to make this phone bag also has a carbon footprint that’s 60.26% lower than virgin leather, and has diverted materials from going to waste. The whole BEEN + Tate collection has rescued a total of 50.67 kg of waste from going into landfills.
