Tate silver band ring

From our Ferian for Tate collection of jewellery, this silver band ring showcases the bespoke hallmarks created for the pieces, including our own newly-registered Tate hallmark. Every ring is designed and handmade in Ferian’s workshop, and hallmarked by the London Assay Office, which means the rings are designed, cast, hand-polished and hallmarked within five miles of Tate Modern.

Crafted in solid sterling silver, the rings are engraved on the inside with the maker’s name and hallmarked on the exterior. Rounded, hand-polished smooth surfaces make them comfortable to wear with a reassuring weight and solidity. Classical and timeless, they are intended to be worn by all genders.

The ring has been exclusively designed for the Tate by London jeweller Ferian, and and made in London using the ancient technique of lost wax casting. The original artefact is cast in wax and its form replaced by molten sterling silver. After cooling, the piece is hand polished by one master craftsperson. Carefully positioned to suit the scale of the pieces, the bespoke hallmarks have the dual function of decoration and traceability, authenticating maker, year, and metal fineness. The hallmarks are engraved at the historic London Assay office who have guaranteed provenance and precious metals for over 700 years.

The ring is available in sizes K, M, P, and R. As a Ferian for Tate ring is a considered purchase, we recommend using a ring sizer to determine the right size for you.

Ferian was founded by designer Leonie Branston in 2017 and is operated from her North London garden studio and nearby workshop. Using an old English word that means to carry over water, Ferian jewellery is made by combining carefully chosen natural materials that remain timeless and grow more desirable as their character is expressed by generations of discerning ownership. The silver used for our Ferian x Tate collection is made from 80% recycled sources, and properly cared for, will last for lifetimes.

Remove your jewellery when cleaning, bathing, sleeping and swimming. We recommend storing your jewellery in a box. Silver naturally oxidises adding character to your jewellery, however a gentle buff with silver polish and a soft cloth will restore the shine. Avoid collision with hard surfaces as this may cause dents and scratches.
