Additional Information
Zanele Muholi has generously produced Muholi V maquettee, 2024, a limited edition artwork to coincide with the exhibition, Zanele Muholi, at Tate Modern, 6 June 2024 – 26 January 2025.
Muholi’s limited edition for Tate is a maquette of a larger bronze sculpture, Muholi V, 2023, of a lone figure resting serenely in a reclined position. The figure is supported by bolster cushions and gently shielded by a blanket, forming a tender and intimate scene. Muholi uses bronze, a popular material for public sculpture, to create a lasting monument to stillness and self-preservation. They emphasise the importance of rest and self-care for Black queer people, especially within public spaces.
Each edition is accompanied by a certificate which is signed and numbered by the artist. Prices of the artwork are liable to change. As a limited edition sells out, prices of the artwork are subject to increase and the price will be clearly indicated.
